Privacy Policy

1.Information we collect

When you use the PROXYCODINGSCHOOL portal, we collect:

Account details — your name, email address, phone number, and the password you set (stored in encrypted form, never readable by us).
Enrollment details — the courses, cohorts and programs you register for, and for special programs, details such as your school or institution, class or matric number, and (for minors) a parent/guardian's name and phone number.
Learning records — lesson progress, quiz and assessment results, attendance at live classes, certificates and admission letters issued to you.
Profile content you choose to add — such as a photo or biography (for facilitators, these may be displayed publicly on our website with your knowledge).
Staff payroll details — for staff only: bank account details used solely to pay salaries.

2.How we use your information

We use your information to run your education: creating and managing your account, processing enrollments and payments, delivering lessons and live classes, issuing admission letters and certificates (including the public certificate verification page, which shows only your name, course and certificate status), sending you receipts, class reminders and important service notifications, and keeping the platform secure. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

3.Payments

All payments on the portal are processed by Paystack, a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider. Your card details are entered directly on Paystack's secure systems — PROXYCODINGSCHOOL never sees or stores your full card number. We keep records of transactions (amount, reference, date and status) for receipts, accounting and dispute resolution.

4.Children & minors

Our Holiday Special Classes are designed for secondary-school students, who may be under 18. Registration for these programs requires a parent or guardian's name and phone number, and we expect registration and payment to be completed with parental consent. We collect only the information needed to deliver the program, and parents/guardians may contact us at any time to review or request deletion of their child's information.

5.When we share information

We share information only with service providers that help us operate, and only what they need:

Paystack — to process payments and, for staff, salary transfers.
Google — live classes are held on Google Meet; joining a class is subject to Google's own privacy policy.
Email & hosting providers — to send you messages and store platform data securely.

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our students, staff and the school.

6.Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms against abuse (session and CSRF cookies). These are required for the portal to work. We do not use advertising cookies.

7.Security & retention

All traffic to the portal is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, access to records is role-restricted, and accounts can enable two-factor authentication. We keep your records for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, accounting and certificate-verification purposes — certificates remain verifiable so employers can confirm them years later.

8.Your rights

In line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you may ask us to: access a copy of your personal information, correct anything that is inaccurate, delete information we no longer need to keep, or object to a particular use. You can update most details yourself from your profile. For anything else, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
